Job Description

High Profile has partnered with our client to find a strategic and collaborative Controller to join our clients dynamic team in a fully in-office role in Uptown. In this position, you will serve as the crucial liaison between the internal team and an external third-party fund administrator, overseeing essential functions such as cash reconciliations and financial statement preparations. Your responsibilities will include managing partnerships, maintaining accurate books and records for the management company, and ensuring the overall financial health of the organization.
The ideal candidate will have a CPA and possess a few years of public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm, along with experience in private equity accounting either directly or with a fund administrator. You will oversee and review quarterly and year-end financial reporting packages, assist in the preparation of quarterly valuations of portfolio investments, and coordinate with the investment team to collect financial and non-financial data for investor reporting.
Your role will require you to assist with financial modeling for the management company and funds, oversee capital calls and distributions, and coordinate audit work with the fund administrator. You will also work closely with third-party tax preparers to ensure the accuracy of tax returns and K-1s. Monthly financial statement packages for the management company, including actual, budget, and forecasted results, will be under your purview.
Additionally, you will be responsible for daily cash management, maintaining banking relationships, and analyzing cash flow for fund vehicles and the management company. Your strong analytical skills will be essential as you coordinate annual credit facility renewals, manage external audits, and assist senior management with administrative and compliance functions.
To thrive in this role, you should have eight to twelve years of experience in the private sector, with fluency in US GAAP, particularly ASC 820, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and Concur. You should demonstrate a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and the ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player. Familiarity with distribution waterfalls and legal documents is preferred.

Outside of the office, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her amazing daughter and friends, traveling, conquering projects around the house, and keeping up with her 4-legged fur-babies.
