Job Description

High Profile has partnered with our client to identify a Plant Controller to lead financial operations at a large-scale food manufacturing facility in Amarillo, TX. This role serves as the primary finance partner to plant leadership and is critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong cost controls, and compliance, while actively supporting operational decision-making.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a finance professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment, enjoys being on the plant floor, and can build trusted relationships with operations leaders.
Financial Leadership & Reporting
  • Own all plant-level accounting and financial activities, including month-end close.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the plant.
  • Manage capital and expense planning and tracking.

Cost Accounting & Inventory Management
  • Maintain and manage standard costing systems (BOMs, labor rates, overhead).
  • Analyze production costs, yield variances, and inventory valuation.
  • Partner with operations to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.

Operational Partnership
  • Act as a strategic business partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team.
  • Provide financial insights to support production planning, process optimization, and performance improvement.
  • Develop strong working relationships by understanding plant processes and engaging directly on the plant floor.

Compliance & Controls
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as needed.

Cross-Functional & Commercial Support
  • Support marketing and sales initiatives through financial analysis related to new product launches and packaging changes.
  • Collaborate with the corporate accounting team as needed.

Role Structure & Environment
  • On-site role based in Amarillo, TX.
  • Relocation assistance to the Amarillo area will be provided by the company.
  • No direct reports;operates as the sole finance leader at the plant.
  • Reports to the VP of Finance, with support from a centralized corporate accounting team.
  • ERP environment transitioning into Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of related Plant Controller AND manufacturing accounting experience required.
  • Food & Beverage Manufacturing, Food & Beverage Services, or CPG industry experience required.
  • Strong preference for dairy manufacturing experience.
  • Deep knowledge of standard costing in a manufacturing environment.
  • CPA or Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or equivalent (Dynamics 365 experience a plus).
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI dashboards and financial storytelling strongly preferred.
