Payroll Manager
Job Description
High Profile has partnered with our client to find a dynamic Payroll Manager for a fast growing organization. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of the company’s payroll process and to oversee the work of one payroll coordinator.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee processing of a 1500-employee weekly payroll across multiple sites/states
- Ensure accuracy of all employee data in payroll and time-tracking system
- Manage at least one Payroll Coordinator
- Proactively identify areas potential problems and recommend resolutions
- Make recommendations for process and system improvements
- Maintain relationships with outside vendors, particularly Paylocity, and work with them on solutions that meet the needs of the organization
- Collaborate with the accounting and financial teams on budgets and financial reports
- Enter and audit hires, status changes, terminations, tax, and direct deposit changes
- Audit timecards prior to payroll processing
- Prepare, audit, and distribute payroll reports
- Process wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, etc.
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll/tax reporting issues
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in payroll management and processing
- Bachelors Degree in finance, accounting or business administration preferred
- Knowledge of applicable payroll, accounting and related laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels
- Extensive knowledge of Payroll processing software (Paylocity)
- Payroll Certifications such as a CPP strongly preferred
- Experience in a multi-site, multi-state organization responsibilities
- Prior experience integrating new organizations through acquisitions
- Experience developing companywide payroll budgets and tracking financial spending
- Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills in addition to strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems and assess root cause and provide solutions related to running weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried workforce
